Bordeaux Grands Crus Raise Funds For Sonoma and Napa Sotheby’s To Host Online Auction Of Large-Format Wine No Reserve – Each Lot Starts At $50 No Buyer’s Premium 100% Of The Proceeds Will Be Donated To CharityNEW YORK, 17 January 2018 – Sotheby’s and the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGCB) are delighted to announce an online sale of wine direct from some of the finest Bordeaux producers to benefit the Community Foundation Sonoma County and Napa Valley Community Foundation following October’s devastating wildfires in the regions. The sale is a continuation of the strong links between Bordeaux and California’s wine-making communities whose vineyards and people have defined the wine world for connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike. The sale will be made up of 75 rare large-format bottles ranging in price from $50 to $6,000, each of which come direct from the cellars of the Château that produced them offering unique opportunities to enjoy wine with unbeatable provenance while supporting vital rebuilding efforts.
All of the lots in the online-only sale are being offered both without reserve and buyer’s premium, with prices starting at $50, regardless of the wine’s value. Bidding will be open from 16-30 January and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the regional foundations.
