(MIAMI, FL – November 29, 2018) – ​Art Miami​, America’s foremost contemporary and modern art fair, is returning for its 29t​ h installment in Miami, Florida alongside the 7t​ h edition of its sister fair, ​CONTEXT Art Miami​. This year’s fairs will kick-off on Tuesday, December 4t​ h with a private VIP Preview evening, before opening to the public on December 5t​ h​ and continuing through December 9t​ h​, 2018.

The Platinum VIP Preview will take place on December 4t​ h from 4:30PM – 5:30PM to benefit the ​Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)​​, sponsored by ​Christie's International Real Estate​​. This will be the first opportunity for collectors, curators, professionals and art world luminaries to acquire the finest investment quality modern and contemporary works from more than 800 established, emerging, and cutting-edge artists, represented by 160 international galleries from nearly 30 countries at Art Miami, and nearly 450 ​mid-career, emergent and cutting-edge artists from 96 galleries, representing 21 countries at CONTEXT Art Miami. The ​​VIP Preview will then continue for all VIP cardholders from 5:30PM to 10PM.

Art Miami and CONTEXT Art Miami will be held for the second consecutive year at the waterfront location of One Herald Plaza, nestled between the Venetian Causeway and MacArthur Causeways, just east of Biscayne Blvd, where they ​offer an unprecedented level of convenience and a renewed connectivity to the activities and collectors on Miami Beach with accessible parking, a complimentary shuttle service between the fairs and ​JW Marriott Marquis Miami and Hotel Beaux Arts, and Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). ​Art Miami continues to feature amenities that improve guests experience, and allow visitors to spend an entire day at the fairs. There are six hospitality areas including a waterfront café, an indoor café, outdoor dining space, cocktail lounge, and an outside cocktail deck overlooking Biscayne Bay. On Thursday, December 6t​ h,​ Art Miami and ​Chef Daniel Boulud will host a special four-course dinner with wine pairings to celebrate Art Miami 2018 Lifetime Visionary Award recipients ​Mr. and Mrs. Dennis and Debra Scholl for their contributions to the cultural landscape of Miami. Art Miami Fair highlights include:●  Landau Contemporary at Galerie Dominion ​​(Montreal) has curated an unprecedented display of works by ​Antoni Clavé​​. Spanning four decades, the collection includes seminal works that have never been seen before in North America. It promises to be one of the most compelling collections of the artist’s works ever mounted. They will also showcase a wide-ranging collection of ​HenryMoore​​’s work, anchored by ​Mother and Child:​ Block Seat.​ A notable ​Marc Chagall ​​will also be displayed. The piece was produced during his first visit to Paris in 1910, which was one of his most fertile and important periods, yet there are very few works that have survived from this period.● ARCHEUS / POST-MODERN ​​(London) ​​will present work from Post-War and Contemporary artists including ​Andy Warhol​​, ​David Hockney​​, ​Lynn Chadwick​​, ​Enrico Castellani​​, and ​Victor Vasarely – who is widely considered to be the leader of the op-art movement. They will also have, ​Untitled (Black and gray) ​from 2009 ​by L​ os Angeles based painter, ​Jonas Wood​​, whose work has fetched $1.2-million at a charity auction.● Leslie Feely Fine Art ​​(New York) will bring ​several high-value works by American expressionist painter ​Richard Diebenkorn that are new to the market. These works have been held in a private collection for more than 40 years. They will also present a never before seen ​Kenneth Noland stripe painting from 1970, in addition to ​a selection of works by ​Jules Olitski​​, ​Helen ​Frankenthaler​​, ​Kikuo Saito​​, ​Frank Stella​​, ​Friedel Dzubas​​ and ​Kenneth​​ ​Noland​​.● Galerie Pascal Landsberg ​​(Paris) will present iconic pieces including ​The 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1984 by​ Keith Haring​​,​ ​​and ​Cafetière, tasse et soucoupe, sucrier,​ a 1965 painting by ​J​​ean Dubuffet​​.● Vertes (Zurich) will display work from blue chip artists including ​George Condo​​, ​Yayoi Kusama, Tom Wesselmann, ​​Willem De Kooning and ​Andy Warhol​​. ​Vertes annually participates in TEFAF Maastricht, Art Cologne, PAD London, Masterpiece, and is a regular exhibitor with Art Miami.● Osborne Samuel (London) specializes in Modern British paintings and sculpture and will showcase workby​HenryMoore​​,​BarbaraHepworth​​,K​ eithArmitage​​and​LynnChadwick​​.● Avant Mining​​ and ​Interprospekt ​​present​ DeXtinction​​, an exhibition that brings the archaic and primordial into our postmodern present, highlighting the beauty and magnificence of Earth’s natural treasures. Pieces on display include artifacts and jewels from more than a hundred million years ago. A mother and juvenile ​Allosaur​​, that are 120-million years old are available, as is an astonishingly well-preserved ​Dinosaur Egg Nest from the Cretaceous period, 75-million years ago. These amazing artifacts are offset by the dazzling beauty of hand selected minerals and gems from the Zigras and Pohl collections. Avant Mining will feature sustainably and ethically mined quartz crystals which are considered the finest in the world. Also featured is a 75-million-year-old ​Ammolite​​ from Canada, which possesses a rare opalized surface displaying all colors in the light spectrum. Humanities’ collective actions drastically affect the fate of the planet, and this collection of ancient treasures symbolize the unification we need now, while reconnecting us to the natural world.● Galerie Terminus ​​will exclusively present early work by ​Georg Baselitz as well as an exquisitelytypical work by ​Sigmar Polke​​. ​John Chamberlain,​​ ​Roy Lichtenstein​​, ​Mel Ramos​​, ​Robert Rauschenberg​​, ​James Rosenquist​​, ​Frank Stella​​, ​Andy Warhol ​​and ​Tom Wesselmann will also be presented, in addition to young Contemporary artists ​Christian Awe,​​ ​Jan Davidoff and ​Tatjana Tartakovska​​, and exciting new work from ​Georg Baselitz​​, ​Sigmar Polke​​, and ​Gerhard Richter​​.● Galerie Terminus ​​(Munich) and ​Galerie Barbara von Stechow ​​(Frankfurt) will unveil ​The New Horizon Project​. In 2016, art and car enthusiast ​Dr. Christian Zschocke​​ commissioned the legendary German aerosol artist and car-racer, ​Walter Maurer​​ – who was an artistic partner of Andy Warhol,Roy Lichtenstein and Frank Stella, to design a paint coat for the famous BMW E3 that wouldcommemorate the car’s 50t​ h​ anniversary and mark its historical role as a symbol of challenge and change. The E3 was introduced in 1968 and featured innovative and groundbreaking technology, which mirrored the technological-led social change that was happening in America and Europe at the time. The car on display at Art Miami is never before seen and has been perfectly restored and is fully functional.● Galerie Forsblom (Helsinki) holds a unique position on the Nordic art scene as one of the largest and most international contemporary art galleries by bringing international established artists to its exhibition spaces in Helsinki and Stockholm. They will present works by ​Stephan Balkenhol​​, ​Donald Baecher​​, ​Peter Halley​​, ​Jacob Hashimoto​​, ​Secundino Hernánzed,​​ ​Chantal Joffe​​, and​ ​​more.● Priveekollektie Contemporary Art | Design ​​(Heusden aan de Maas) will feature work never before seen in the United States, including ​Luxuria 99 by ​Catharina van de Ven​​. The work is a wall tapestry consisting of 99 unique colored domes, tufted in wool, created in collaboration with TextielMuseum. They will also present work from ​Alex Chinneck​​, ​Barberini & Gunnell​​, Dominic Harris​​, ​Peter Macapia​​, ​Reinier Bosch​​, ​Salustiano​​, ​Vincenzo Marsiglia​​, ​​and Moritz Waldemeryer – ​​who has collaborated with Hussein Chalayan and Zaha Hadid and created high tech costumes for both Rihanna and U2.● Helwaser Gallery ​​(New York) ​​will return to Art Miami for its ninth time with a George Condo feature. Ahead of the artist’s 61s​ t birthday on December 10, 2018, collectors will experience a thoughtful presentation of works produced over the famed American artist’s four-decade career. Additional artworks include pieces by Alexander Calder​​, ​John Chamberlain​​, ​Richard Diebenkorn​​, ​Friedel Dzubas​​,​ Helen Frankenthaler​​,​ Yayoi Kusama​​,​ Sol Lewitt​​,​ ​​and​ Richard Serra​​.● Catherine Edelman Gallery ​​(Chicago) ​​will present ​How Do You See Me? – ​a collection of w​ ork by three female photographers, ​Alanna Airitam​​, ​Endia Beal and ​Medina Dugger​​, that ​​confronts the ways African-Americans are often perceived in art, the workplace, and through their physical appearance.● Peter Anton​​, represented by ​Galerie von Braunbehrens ​​(Stuttgart,) will reveal his ​​CHOCO TOWER​​, a monumental sculpture measuring 10 feet tall and more than 1,000-pounds, comprised of five chocolates made from painted aluminum stacked on top of each other. Anton made headlines for his 2012 installation, ​SUGAR & GOMORRAH, at CONTEXT Art Miami, which allowed spectators to ride a roller coaster through an exhibition of sugar sculptures, models and ruins of a destroyed city. CHOCO TOWER​ was created at the world-renowned Foundry of Polich Tallix.● DIE GALERIE ​​(Frankfurt) ​​will exhibit the work of ​Johannes Heisig​​, ​​including a large format still life entitled ​Fischgericht (Fish dish),​ almost two meters high. They will also present ​Les Jeunes et les Jeux Twistent, ​a rare painting from 1964 by​ Max Ernst​​, which is valued at more than one million dollars.● Galerie Ernst Hilger ​​(Vienna) will bring a rare, never before shown large scale ​Picassó Rodez from 2001 by ​Erró Erró​​. They will also ​display up to 30 works by​ ​​Shepard Fairey​​ in the VIP lounge.● Gilden’s Art Gallery ​​will present a selection of work by Alexander Calder ​​and Sam Francis ​​from their recent show, ‘​American Abstraction – Kineticism to Expressionism.​ ’● Nancy Hoffman ​​(New York) will exhibit a selection of Michele Pred​​’s work, including never before seen pieces and her series of vintage purses affixed with electroluminescent wire designed into bold statements. Pieces include ​Power of the Purse: Time’s Up/Equal Pay​, Vote Feminist,​ and Power of the Purse: We Vote a​ ll from 2018. They will also present her full body riot suit, ​Untitled, her bullet proof vest piece, ​My Body My Business 1/3​, and her vintage voting booth piece​, Real Choices​, all from 2018. Pred’s statement pieces have been admired by Amy Schumer and ​Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor​. Pred was responsible for organizing Parade Against Patriarchy at Miami Art Week 2017.● Richard Levy Gallery ​​(Albuquerque) will display work from transgender artist Earl McBride​​. Growing up in Georgia, Earl transitioned at age 53, and the large-scale paintings on show were created during the two years he transitioned. The gallery will also show work from various blue chip artists, including ​James Turrell​​’s ​Aten Reign from 2015. ​​The print is based on his 2013 installation at the Guggenheim Museum and captures the artist’s sense of light and color, while beautifully representing a three-dimensional installation on a two-dimensional plane.● Grosvenor Gallery ​​(London) will display work from modern Indian artists including ​F.N. Souza​​, ​M.F. Husain​​, ​​and ​S.H. Raza ​​– one of the founders of the modern art movement in India – who are currently part of a major show at New York’s Asia Society. They will also present a colorful minimalist sculpture from the political artist and social activist ​Rasheed Araeen who is the subject of a major retrospective, which is on exhibit at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.CONTEXT Art Miami Fair highlights include:● Art Angels ​​(Los Angeles) will host a print signing for artist ​Beau Dunn ​​at ​​the VIP preview December 4t​ h at 8pm. They will also present work from Dunn, who is known for her tongue-in-cheek mixed media photography, sculptures and paintings. Her work has been exhibited at the ​Frederick R. Weisman Museum and LACMA. Her Barbie series was recently featured in ​Architectural Digest at Claudia Schiffer’s home. They will also show work from ​sculpting artist Jennie Vinter​​, who is known for her feminine lifecasting sculptures.● Cantor Fine Art will present a solo show by German-born artist ​Andrew Myers​​, known for his large scale three-dimensional portraits.● DS Projects (Miami) will debut a solo exhibition by Argentinian artist ​Marcolina Dipierro​​, who addresses the notion of modern abstraction, exploring formal aspects of modern architecture and design in combination and contrast with various forms and materials.● Estudio Arte Contemporaneo (Havana) will present a solo show by Cuban artist ​Rubén Alpízar​​, who explores the postmodern language and its ambiguity of political, economic, social and artistic resources in a contemporary world. ​Alpízar is one of the most important Cuban artists, whose work has sold at Sotheby’s and Christie’s.● GAMA Gallery (Istanbul) will ​present seven artists including ​Devrim Erbil​​, the most famous living Turkish artist, in a booth themed around the cultural mix of Turkey, how the country relates to global art scene, and its interaction between other artists around the world.● Hashimoto Contemporary ​​(San Francisco) will display new work from ​Peter Gronquist​​'s ​Immortals series, in addition to his ​Infinity Mirrors.​ They will also hold a book signing with ​Joel Daniel Philips​​.● Heron Arts (San Francisco) will display a solo performative exhibition by artist ​Donald Ian McCaw​​. McCaw is a Canadian artist who situates his very personal autobiographical paintings in the context of a very impersonal story about a businessman seeking to reinvent the way fine art is made. McCaw plays out the story of ​Mba Fabrications Inc​. at art fairs, where he presents outrageous business initiatives with convincing earnestness.● Kim Foster Gallery (Denver) will feature a booth themed around tranquility, with work from artists including​WillKurtz​​,​SusanChryslerWhite​​,K​ athleenMulcahy​​and​ChristianFaur​​.● Lawrence Fine Art (New York) will showcase, ​Beauty Studies​, which addresses conceptions of female beauty as reflected in the iconic work of photographer ​Howard Schatz​​. Schatz was named ​Book Photographer of the Year at the 2015 IPA International Photography Awards f​ or his retrospective, "Schatz Images: 25 Years," and his work has been shown at the Brooklyn Museum.● Lucia Mendoza (Madrid) will present work from ​Christian Voigt that has never been shown before in the United States, in addition to brand new work from ​Oliver Czarnetta​​.● Markowicz Fine Art will present new installation work by street artist ​KAI.​​ Born in Los Angeles, KAI is recognized globally for his social commentary through his signature body of work ​IF​, which is a character of no color, sex or race.● Rele Gallery (Lagos) will make its first appearance at the fair, presenting a solo show by Nigerian artist ​Victor Ehikhamenor​​. Ehikhamenor is known for his traditional African motifs, religious cosmology drawings and immersive installations.● RHODES (London) will show ​Triple Art Bypass​, a solo exhibition by British artist ​Lucy Sparrow​​.
