We are happy to celebrate the 10th edition of Unseen with you from Friday 16 September to Sunday 18 September 2022.

At the iconic Culture Park Westergas in Amsterdam Unseen will feature the latest developments in contemporary photography.

What to expect at Unseen? In our monthly newsletters you can already get a preview and read the stories behind the artists and works at Unseen as well as the latest publications in the Book Market. This edition includes among others: the works by Fleur van Dodewaard, Juan Brenner, Torben Eskerod and Carlos Aguirre plus the exclusive and official book launch of world famous photographer Anton Corbijn.

The Artist in Her Studio: Interview with Fleur van DodewaardFleur van Dodewaard (NL, 1983) – on view at galerie dudokdegroot – combines photography, sculpture and painting. She creates temporary compositions with simple materials such as wood, clay, paint and tape, which she then photographs. In her work, she explores the creative process of producing images and uses historical and art historical references to engage in dialogue with new work.

The mysterious collages of Carlos AguirreCarlos Aguirre - on view at ALMANAQUE fotográfica from Mexico - explores in his practice disciplines such as photography, installation, graphic design and sculpture, sometimes combined within a single work. Aguirre is known for his determination to push the boundaries of these disciplines and he likes to experiment with new materials and techniques.

UNBOUD: boundary breaking photography projectsFor the second time Unseen presents Unbound in the Transformatorhuis, opposite of the fair. Unbound is Unseen’s most ambitious section, dedicated to boundary breaking photography projects crossing over into installation art, sculpture, digital art, virtual reality and performances art, often on a monumental scale. This year’s guest curator Damarice Amao from the Centre Pompidou in Paris selected a dozen projects. Amongst others: Michel Lamoller, presenting a monumental Urban Landscape relief, existing somewhere between photography and sculpture, between the two dimensional and the three dimensional.
