The Afridi Gallery will be hosting a selling exhibition of a rare collection of exquisite Suzanis. “Gardens of Delight" will include some of the finest embroideries of museum quality to come to the market in decades. The gallery on Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea will be showing the textiles next to twentieth-century design and other works of art from Thursday, 7th June to Thursday, 5th July 2018.

The Gallery is specifically designed to let objects speak for themselves, creating an intriguing dialogue between different art forms, united by their aesthetic quality and mastery of execution. Suzanis originate from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and were traditionally woven as part of a bridal dowry.
