If you've been following the resurgence of iconic 1970s Italian sofas — ultra-comfortable, sometimes modular, and built for conversation — you probably rejoiced last year when Bellini's masterpiece, the 1972 Le Mura, was reissued by Tacchini. The sofa is composed of endlessly reconfigurable blocky segments — inspired by the bricks that form the ancient walls that encircle…
If you've been following the resurgence of iconic 1970s Italian sofas — ultra-comfortable, sometimes modular, and built for conversation — you probably rejoiced last year when Bellini's masterpiece, the 1972 Le Mura, was reissued by Tacchini. The sofa is composed of endlessly reconfigurable blocky segments — inspired by the bricks that form the ancient walls that encircle so many Italian cities — that are fastened by industrial chrome buckles and accented by exposed zippers recalling Bellini's Cab chair.

Now, there's another reason to rejoice: As of this week, the Le Mura is making its US debut, with a special presentation at the New York design gallery M2L. If you find yourself in the city, we invite you to come experience the sofa in person, with a set design inspired by the latest Tacchini catalog, "Life and Other Stories."
