Exhibitors announced for the 8th edition of Masterpiece London alongside new space ‘MASTERPIECE PRESENTS’ Masterpiece London sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada, announces the exhibitors joining the 2017 edition of the fair, which runs from 29 June - 5 July at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Bringing together 150 galleries and specialists, Masterpiece launched in 2010 with a unique focus on cross-collecting. Over the past seven years it has established itself as one of the leading international art fairs, attracting approximately 40,000 visitors. Exceptional works offered for sale span Impressionist and modern art, post-war and contemporary art, master paintings from 15th to 18th century, modern and contemporary design, decorative arts, furniture, photography, ethnographic and folk art, antiquities, ceramics, silver, rare books and jewelry.

This year Masterpiece London launches MASTERPIECE PRESENTS, a new specially created exhibition space that will transform the Fair’s entrance. For the 2017 edition, Masterpiece London will showcase a large-scale site-specific installation by artist Iván Navarro, commissioned by New York based Paul Kasmin Gallery. International galleries will bring works to the market presenting a great depth and spectrum of art and design in an environment uniquely suited to collecting. New exhibitors Hazlitt Holland-Hibbert, Stoppenbach & Delestre, Vertes and Paul Kasmin Gallery enhance the fair’s significant representation of 19th to 21st century art alongside Dickinson, Offer Waterman, Thomas Gibson Fine Art Ltd, Blain|Southern and Robilant + Voena.

Robin Katz Fine Art, Osborne Samuel, Piano Nobile and Christopher Kingzett will contribute to the fair’s strong showing of modern British art, including works by Henry Moore, Howard Hodgkin, Bridget Riley, and Barbara Hepworth. Italian masters Alberto Burri, Paolo Scheggi, Enrico Pistoletto and Lucio Fontana will be offered by Mazzoleni, M & L Fine Art, Tornabuoni Art, Cortesi Gallery, and Repetto Gallery.

Impressionist, Surrealist and Expressionist works will be offered at Mayoral, Bailly Gallery, Ludorff and Trinity House Paintings. The master paintings from 15th to 18th century and British paintings selection is built upon this year by De Jonckheere, Galerie G. Sarti, and Derek Johns who join returning exhibitors Richard Green, The Fine Art Society, Philip Mould and Company and Agnews. Collectors can also purchase works on paper by big name artists – including Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol – at Sims Reed Gallery, Lyndsey Ingram, Long-Sharp Gallery, William Weston Gallery and Offer Waterman & Co.

Reflecting Masterpiece’s cross-collecting ethos, Safani Gallery Inc and Geoffrey Diner Gallery will share a large stand this year, presenting a mix of ancient Egyptian, Roman and Greek antiquities alongside iconic 20th century and contemporary design; Galerie Mathivet will show contemporary Aboriginal art in an Art Deco interior; Repetto Gallery and Donati Arte Classica will present remarkable Roman pieces alongside post war Italian works; Berwald and MD Flacks will offer modern British art beside rare Chinese antiques.

Librairie Camille Sourget will further the fair’s expertise on rare books and illuminated manuscripts, as championed by returning exhibitors Peter Harrington and Les Enluminures; photography will be presented by Bernheimer Fine Art, Peter Fetterman and Sundaram Tagore; ceramics of all periods will be presented by EH Manners, John Whitehead, Adrian Sassoon and Michele Beiny Inc; rare silver will be shown at Koopman Rare Art, N&I Franklin and The Silver Fund; antique and ancient Asian works can be acquired from Gregg Baker, Amir Mohtashemi and David Aaron – who will also show a selection of classical antiquities.

Masterpiece’s contingent of ancient art dealers will include Axel Vervoordt, Ariadne Galleries, David Ghezelbash Archéologie, Rupert Wace Ancient Art, Valerio Turchi and Galerie Chenel.

Fine furniture and decorative arts from the 17th century to the present day can be acquired at the fair from Galerie Perrin, Steinitz, Alessandra di Castro, Edward Hurst, Robert Young Antiques, Apter-Fredericks, H. Blairman & Sons, Thomas Coulborn & Sons and Ronald Phillips, whilst modern and contemporary design will be available from Based Upon, Modernity Stockholm, Jean David Botella, Dutko Gallery, Rose Uniacke, 88- Gallery, Linley and David Gill Gallery who are joined by new exhibitors Oscar Graf and Chastel-Maréchal.

Masterpiece continues to be a destination for collectors of intricate jewellery works. Unique contemporary pieces can be purchased from Wallace Chan, Van Cleef & Arpels, BoghossÍan and Hemmerle and a selection of antique jewellery, with pieces by Cartier, Boucheron, JAR and Fabergé, can be found at Wartski, Symbolic & Chase, Verdura, Hancocks and S.J. Phillips.

This year the fair will launch ‘MASTERPIECE PRESENTS’, an annual entrance installation project. We are delighted to introduce this new initiative with a large installation by renowned Chilean artist Iván Navarro.’

Tony Johnson, Head of Sales and Relationship Management, RBC Wealth Management, said ‘It is our pleasure to continue as the Principal Sponsor of Masterpiece London.
