Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic in December 2021, Art Antwerp thrived last year for its second edition by welcoming nearly 12,000 visitors, establishing itself as a prominent fixture in the Belgian contemporary art calendar and has since been able to count on the support of main partners Delen Private Bank and Bank Van Breda. Antwerp's rich artistic heritage and vibrant contemporary art scene make it an ideal host city for this emerging art fair.

The fair distinguishes itself by providing a platform for contemporary art galleries to showcase a diverse selection of established and up-and-coming artists. Unlike larger art fairs, Art Antwerp offers an intimate atmosphere that fosters personal connections between collectors, art lovers and galleries, encouraging meaningful conversations. Art Antwerp is set to be an ambitious smaller-sized contemporary art fair and a major player in the city of Antwerp.

GALLERIES72 galleries are participating in the third edition of Art Antwerp. 51% of the galleries come from abroad (35 Belgian galleries versus 37 international galleries). The representation of countries is as follow: Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, UK and USA. ​

22% of the galleries (#16) are based in Antwerp and 32% are new participating galleries (#23) at the fair.
