Widely recognized by both critics and art enthusiasts as one of the most influential contemporary art fairs on Florida's Gold Coast, the fair continues to grow in recognition and esteem each year. The fair careful dealer selection process creates outstanding presentation features all forms of contemporary art including painting, sculpture, photography, design, fine art glass, video and installations from modern art to new cutting-edge artists. Art Palm Beach offers the community an extensive four day lecture and panel series from some of the art world’s leading experts. To enhance collector’s art fair experience, Art Palm Beach supports major art installations by conceptual artists and curated exhibitions Through this cohesive and unique program, ArtPalmBeach delivers a dynamic art fair that meets the high standards of the distinguished exhibitors and collectors that attend the fair each year.
ArtPalmBeach welcomes back many returning exhibitors in 2013 and introduces first time exhibitors from Russia, Korea, Lebanon, China, Argentina, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Mexico, United Kingdom and the United States. The fair is comprised of over eighty international galleries, fifteen site specific installations and artist project spaces. Over 500 artists from thirteen countries will be exhibited at the fair during Palm Beach’s Art Week of museum openings, Fotofusion, gallery walks and art performances.
The fair will honor the lifetime accomplishments of Italian master Lino Tagliapietra and will feature a one-man exhibition of major works presented by Schantz Galleries. Recently lauded with two Doctorates, Lino Tagliapietra is one of the world’s most accomplished artists working with art studio glass. He has exhibiting in museums around the globe, receiving countless honors, openly sharing his far-reaching knowledge of the medium and his skill as one of its finest practitioners, and helping to create a new renaissance in studio glassmaking.
Additional 2013 fair highlights:Honoring the 50th Anniversary of Andy Warhol’s first exhibition the Long Sharp Gallery will exhibit “Politics, Peace and Passion”. A collection of original works and limited edition prints from Andy Warhol and his close friend Robert Indiana. Include in the exhibition will be William John Kennedy’s original photographs of these iconic artists of the 60’s including Warhol’s “Factory” and his muses.
The Leslie Smith Gallery of Amsterdam will introduce Shanghai’s Simon Ma, one of China’s most well known and internationally acclaimed artists, is debuting his work in Palm Beach. His cross-cultural approach to art, music, design has resulted in a highly vibrant and successful world tour exhibition, “The Soul-Drago+Cavallo,” which has received outstanding recognition. Simon Ma has created quite a legacy, collaborating successfully as an artistic designer with various major international brands such as Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Ducati, and thus creating many limited edition art designs. His designs, such as the Art Bubble Chair, have been exhibited in Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA). His exhibition “Ink-Brush-Heart” curated by Achille Bonoito Oliva and co-curated by Palol de Grandis will be exhibited at the Venice Biennale in June 2013.
On the heels of an their exhibition at Design Miami, Berengo Studio/Venice Projects (Venice) will present an installation of large-scale glass works by Pieke Bergmans alongside work by Marta Klonowska, Andrea Salvador and others.
A tribute to Albert Paley’s upcoming New York’s Park Avenue monumental sculpture exhibition Ruth Lawrence Fine Art (Rochester) will present a preview and special exhibition and coinciding lecture offering an inside look at upcoming exhibition June-November 2013. Paley has over 50 major site specific works and is collected by major museums including New York’s Metropolitan Museum, MFA Boston and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
Recycled giant plastic penguins, hares, dogs and alligators will surround the fair, works by internationally renowned Belgium sculptor William Sweetlove represented by De Buck Gallery ( New York). Creator of the “Crackling Group” whose city wide installation works instilled profound impact and awareness of mankind’s effects of climate change and balance with nature.
Exploring color, fusion, LED lights De Buck Gallery and will unveil a new series of works by German artists Hans Kotter, one of the most exciting artists on the European contemporary art scene. “Luminous” light works by German artist Regine Schumann will be introduced to Palm Beach collectors. Carefully crafted the artist creates a new vision of form and translucency by creating lightpaintings which glow with a profound new definition of luminosity.
Whitespace Collection will present “Lyte Bytes,” an exhibition of works by emerging video artists Jacek Gancarz, Eren Kocabasi, Lucia Leahy and Sam Perry
An exhibition of studio glass masters will be presented by Habatat Galleries (Michigan), celebrating the gallery’s 40th anniversary one of the leading glass galleries in the country. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the American Studio Art Glass Movement the gallery will exhibit rare vintage works by Littleton, Labino, Libensky, Chihuly, Howard Ben Tre and Lipofsky. Over 165 major museum honored these pioneers of the glass art movement 2012-3. Florida lead the nation in the number of major exhibitions honoring the movement’s pioneer artists.
A special exhibition of lightpainting works from Stephen Knapp, presented by Setford & Bridges (Paris + New York); Stephen Knapp, artist and innovator of this new fusion of art and technology will be honored at his museum opening at Miami’s Lowe Art Museum on January 25th.
Leslie Smith Gallery (Amsterdam) will unveil an outstanding collection of contemporary Aboriginal Art alongside new works from the breakout Chinese artist Zhuang Hong Yi.
An interactive installation from French “light painter,” photographer Jadikan LP will be presented by Art Vitam (Paris + Miami). Creating lighting portraits by the use of long exposure Jadikan creates ghost like imagery with light and color.
Invited Cuban artist Sandra Ramos works will be featured in a site specific fair installation by Mayer Gallery. Known for her pioneering the depiction of Cuba's harshness of daily life, social strife, inequalities, racial and social issues. Her works works have been internationally collected and recently acquired by the Miami Art Museum permanent collection.
Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery (Stamford) will introduce the internationally renowned and award winning furniture designer and artist Paco Camus of Madrid, Spain.
Lyons Wier Gallery (New York) will be featuring a site specific installation of contemporary works by American artist Greg Haberny.
FAIR PROGRAMMING:Fair programming will encompass an extensive schedule of premiere events, special exhibitions, topical lectures, special museum tours, site-specific art installations, art performances and exclusive VIP programs.
