Looking Like a SeaFair Summer

Following on the heels of a highly successful Art Sarasota, SeaFair is heading north for the summer.

From the moment of its arrival into Sarasota, Florida, the 228-foot luxury mega-yacht was met by welcoming crowds and anxious onlookers. A total 18,000 people visited the Fair during its five-day run, forming daily lines as long as four blocks. As its visit neared an end, the most common question asked was - “Where’s SeaFair going next?”

Newport, Rhode Island will be the summer home of SeaFair and the inaugural location of its summer tour. Art Newport will begin with “Art in the Harbor” fairs running June 23-27 and June 30-July 4. xxx The contemporary ship will host international dealers presenting art representing a broad range of media and periods. Attendees can expect to see a bevy of artworks including fine art glass, paintings, jewelry, design, sculpture, photography and furniture. The majority of artwork will fall in the price range of $3,000 to $35,000 with the occasionally more expensive works.

After the inaugural Newport dates the mega-yacht will continue to Martha’s Vineyard for a two-part edition of Art at the Vineyard (July 14-18 & August 18-22). The SeaFair summer season will conclude with a return to its debut port in Greenwich, CT, for Art Greenwich(September 15-19).

ABOUT SEAFAIR

The ship boasts three decks of international galleries, two outdoor bars, an international coffee bar, as well as a formal glass-walled restaurant and an open-air bistro on the Sky Deck. xxx The spacious open-air Sky Deck bar and lounge will undoubtedly become a popular evening gathering place for yacht crews visiting Newport, as well as collectors during the galleries normal daytime operating hours.

SeaFair is the world's first mobile mega-yacht venue and one of the largest private yachts in the United States. Groundbreaking in scale, ingenuity and style, the innovative exhibition facility - which remains dockside during each event - pairs international fine art, jewelry and collectables with harbor view dining and special events in cities along the eastern seaboard.

The $40M purpose built exhibition yacht was designed by internationally acclaimed yacht designer Luiz de Basto. At 228 feet and 2,800 international tons, it is one of the largest ships built for commercial operation in the Intracoastal Waterway and requires a draft of only 6.5 feet, allowing it to dock at yacht facilities in central city locations rather than use commercial ports.
